Born in Vienna in 1956. There he began studying theatre and communication-science which led to his extensive explorations into sound poetry, choral, visual and performance poetries. In 1991 he founded and currently serves as director of the Vienna poetry school. He has taught in Hanoi, Medellin, Bouler, Rome, Frankfurt, and Vienna. He collaborated with Allen Ginsberg, Nick Cave and Henri Chopin and has given reading and performance tours across Europe, Latin America, and Vietnam. He is author and editor of several books, CDs, videos and internet-sites Among them the long poem “The Golden Flood” (1987), which has been translated into several languages, the CD “30 Rufe” (1993), the video “30 Nanzen” and his www-projects “ippoi” and “icons” (http://www.sfd.at).
